The Observatory
The Geophysical Observatory Mikhnevo was founded in 1954. The Observatory is located at 80 km to the south of Moscow (54 ° 57' N, 37 ° 46' E). The Observatory carries out investigations of the mechanisms of interrelated disturbances in the internal and external geospheres of the Earth. The observatory is equipped with a multifunctional measuring systems, which includes:
- Small aperture seismic array
- Magnetometric complex
- HF, LF, VLF and ELF receivers
- Weather station
This equipment makes it possible to carry out synchronous and coordinated measurements of lithospheric, atmospheric and ionospheric processes.
